For this week, we are being asked by Pn. Ros to apply surfacing assumption template to the particular business process running in the subject business activity. As for our group , we had choose the boutique's inventory system among some other activities within the boutique that we had list. we need to conduct the Inventory into five template which is What , Why, When, Where and How.All group members give full co-operation.

Interviewing Session


Time : 11.30 – 12.30 pm
Venue : Emas Sutera Boutique

1. Before we began the interview session, our group leader, Ziera Syilani gave a brief review to the owner of the boutique about the information that we need as well as our project planning regarding this assignment.

2. We had a chance to interview the owner of the boutique, Puan Hajah Zaleha Ahamad and her husband, Tuan Haji Zulkifli Bin Haji Long who is also her business partner.

3. This interview session was lead by Ziera and was assisted by other group members as well. Moreover, we also got a chance to take a few photos along that interview sessions including the boutique’s interior.

4. Furthermore, we managed to complete the first portion of our interview which related to the topic ‘Introduction To Sutera Emas Boutique’ consisting:-

a. Company’s profile

i. History


  • This boutique was originally started on Nov 14th, 1996 at Medan in front of Masjid An-Nur, Bandar Baru Bangi. On 2004, it moves to WARTA and officially run their business there untill now.

ii. Organizational structure

  • The organizational structure are as follows:-
iii. Business activity
  • Selling traditional and national attire up to professional office workers attire.

  • Supplier to small retailer.

b. Staff


i. Staff recruitment: -

  • Currently, there are two ways of staff recruitment.
    A) Job Advertisement
    Company advertises the job offer.
    Conduct interview session.
    If PASS --> become a staff of the boutique.
    B) Resource the people from Baitulmal to become their staffs.

ii. Qualification

  • Skills are much important rather than qualifications.

  • But it was a bonus if a staff has high qualifications with good skills.

iii. Staff evaluation



  • The basic salary for each staffs is RM600. After three months, the payment will be increasing based staff's performance and self-improvement.

  • They conduct in-house training and day-to-day briefing for their staffs. It includes the topics to sharpening the soft-skills, attitude, paradigm and etc. Still, the scopes can be flexible depending to situations.

iii. Number of staff

  • In prior, there are 10 staffs worked for this boutique. Meanwhile, it seems to be overloaded since the space can not accommodate the high number of staffs. So, they reduced 6 staffs and operate the business with 4 staffs leading by Tuan Haji and Puan Hajah.

c. Customer.


i.Targeted customer

  • They have wide range of customer, from child to adult.

  • They also have lot regular customer.


d. Competition in terms of business locations

  • Originally the location of the boutique was strategic according to the WARTA's lot. Then after a year there were many other shops and stall hidden up the location of the boutique.

5. Overall, this interview session was held successfully. The boutique management gave us a very good co-operation by providing us with the information we need. * Every group member need to do some analysis regarding the interview sessions and the task to collect and edited the information gathered was given to Nurhanani, Faraziana dan Nur Suhaida.

Subject : 3rd Meeting Report

Contents:

Every group member need to prepare a few questions for the interviewing sessions where the best questions will be selected. A discussion part was conducted in order to ensure that the selected questions are appropriate and relevant to our scope which is the Introduction to ‘Sutera Emas Boutique’.

The questions were divided into 4 main scopes which are:-
1)The company’s profile
2)The customer
3)The staff
4)The competition in terms of their business rivals and locations.

The delegation of task was done by the group leader. Every group member need to do the interviewing session based on the specified scope. Other delegated task such as voice recording as well as photo and note taking during the interviewing sessions was also being divided.

a.Preparing for the meeting report.
b.Preparing for the interview report.
c.Editing the report.
d.Updating the blog.

Subject : Weekly Progress

For this week four we are supposely to resume visit to the site. Unfortunately we as group Four-T were not able to pay visit to the Emas Sutera Boutique due to some reasons. So the time given
to visit site, we tuned it to group meeting and discussion. Below are the details of the meeting:

Group leader, Ziera Syilani lead the meeting in order to have a view about what we all the members need to come out later. Brainstorming session take place in the first round where we are discussing about the scope of questions that we all need to come out to complete the interviewing session later on also to gather the information. We have seperating the phase
of the scope into four major part. They include :

1) Introduction To 'Butik Emas Sutera'

This area will consist questions on the boutique's background that will represent the boutique itself. The information gathering will be based on company's profile such as the date of establihment, business activities and also the owner of the boutique. Also in this area there will a questions on the company's business environment that going to touch on their product, service, supplier and customer also how was their condition of current management of the boutique. Last from this part will be about the feedback from their customer.

2)Business Activities

This part we will go further into the business activities. The business process reengineering process start here where the first step,process mapping will take place. Ideas of what kind of input that we going to have after the interview is based on questions about the effectiveness, efficiency also the limitation of current business activities.we also will ask about the flow of the business process, the risk, problem solving, envisioning and not to forget the security things.
